(T)raum-Ze(n)it, Dialog for 2 Bass Clarinets by David Philip Hefti. Kunzelmann, 2008, SS, 4 pages (two copies in score format). (T)raum-Ze(n)it was composed in 2008 on a commission from the Stump-Linshalm Duo, and is dedicated to Petra Stump and Heinz-Peter Linshalm. "Space and time ('Raum' and 'Zeit') surely belong amongst the most often-discussed concepts of all. In his Transcendental Aesthetics, Immanuel Kant explains that space and time are prerequisites of the sensory imagination. In Relativity Theory, 'space-time' means the combination of the three spatial dimensions together with time as the fourth coordinate, in order to create a four-dimensional space. And in our dreams (singular: 'Traum'), time and space melt to form ambiguous, often surreal images..." An advanced piece using contemporary techniques such microtonality, multiphonics (fingerings given), articulations, glissando, tremolo, etc. Duration about 3 minutes. (C1476)
