Originally, the Vandoren 13 Series Clarinet Mouthpieces were only available in a few sizes. However, with their increased popularity due to their richer tone, Vandoren has opened up the 13 Series to include most of their models. All of the 13 Series are only made with the “Profile 88” beak.  The 5RV Lyre is slighty more open than the standard 5RV.  The 13 Series features American pitch standards. The difference between ”Profile 88” and Traditional mouthpieces is in the exterior angle of the beak. Some players find the profile 88 more comfortable than the traditional Vandoren beak.
