These reeds are distinguished by their thicker cane and a heel taper steeped in the German style, which contributes to their unique sound. They produce excellent warmth and richness, with a centered tone possessing crystal-like clarity that sounds exceptional across the instrument's entire register. The cane is carefully selected from Vandoren's fields in the south of France, ensuring high quality and consistent response, making them a favorite among players seeking a warm, deep tone with excellent projection.

The 3.5+ strength of these reeds is ideal for clarinetists who have developed strong embouchure control and breath support. They offer significant resistance, allowing players to achieve a powerful, focused sound with precise articulation and dynamic control. These reeds are often chosen by advanced students and professional musicians for their demanding performance needs.

To extend the life and improve the performance of your reeds, it's best to break them in gradually. Play on a new reed for short periods (5-10 minutes) over several days. After playing, gently wipe the reed clean and store it in a proper reed case that allows air circulation, preventing warping and promoting longevity. This helps maintain consistency and tone.
