Noted flutist/composer/pianist Gary Schocker has been a frequent participant in the 1993 International Clarinet Association composition contest. This piece was written in 1998 and finished in the top three at ClarinetFest '99 in Ostend, Belgium. It was revised in 2016 prior to being republished. In five movements: I. Easygoing, II. Folksong, III. Fast, IV Sad Story, and V. Nose-Thumbing. This piece has a few notes in the extended range and quite a bit of mixed meter. Early college level.
